Pedometers
Pedometers keep a record of how many steps you have taken by sensing
your body motion and then use this data to calculate the distance you
have travelled. They can be worn all day, every day or just when you
are out for a walking workout.
You may be familiar with the
10,000 steps a day challenge launched by the NHS in recent years that
encouraged people to walk at least 10,000 steps a day to help combat
rising levels of obesity and improve our overall health. A pedometer is
the perfect way of keeping track of how many steps you have covered and
can also inspire you to improve your wellbeing.
All pedometers
count the number of steps taken, although they may use different
methods to do so. The most accurate way of recording how many steps
have been taken is through an accelerometer like the one used in the
Oregon Anywear Slim Pedometer.
Many pedometers now have additional features to enhance your workouts such as target times as seen in the
Oregon Marathon Walker and even calorie counters like the
Oregon Calorie Counter Pedometer with Panic Alarm.
Wearing
a pedometer and recording your daily steps is a fantastic way to
increase your motivation to exercise and improve your overall health
and wellbeing.
